we met in duluth, mINNESOTA. Cailen had been living in st paul and steph in Uptown, their paths had never crossed in the twin cities, but somehow on a fall evening in duluth, mn, these two finally met. Cailen was in duluth visiting his parents and saying goodbye to friends, as he was moving to arizona that month. Steph was up north exploring the fall colors with her cousin. They met at mutual friends house. Although the two did not for-see this working long term (due to cailen moving and all) they still gave it a go. there was no pressure, and nothing but fun to be had... which made things all the more desirable. after steph's first trip to AZ to visit cailen, the rest was history...

Cailen popped the question, much to Steph's surprise and delight, at the foothills of Glen Coe in the Scottish Highlands. Followed by many tears of joy and several glasses of champagne, the couple kept the engagement to themselves and enjoyed the rest of their Scotland adventure, They made their joy public when they returned back to the US through this video of photos and clips from the trip.
